Emily Hernandez, who was pardoned after being convicted of a misdemeanor for her role in the January 6th Capitol riot, has been sentenced to 17 years in prison for causing a fatal drunk driving crash. Hernandez drove the wrong way on an interstate, hitting a car and killing one person while seriously injuring another. Her blood alcohol content was .20% at the time of the crash, well over the legal limit. The judge gave her a sentence close to the maximum allowed by law. Hernandez had previously been photographed holding a piece of then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's nameplate during the Capitol riot.
